Aromas of brandy-macerated red cherries, bay laurel, duck fat, forest floor, toasty baking spices and warm vanilla. The chewy red and black fruits come through in the mouth with layers of fine tannins and just a whisper of smoldering French oak. A delicious finish ends this wine on a lush note of creme brulee topped with plum compote. (92 points Wilfred Wong)
My review: I absolutely LOVE THIS WINE. I loved it so much I bought a bottle for myself. When I first smelled the wine I would smell this kind of campfire smell that must have come from the French oak. It to me was a very musky kind of wine, and while at first smell you think it would be heavy, it had a lot of flavor but still felt light to me on my tongue. I give it two huge thumbs up!
I did not have it with food but I plan on splitting the bottle with a friend and some chocolate in the near future.
